At Legal Clinic Myanmar (LCM), we drive change and uphold justice through strategic programs designed to empower communities and strengthen the rule of law. Our work extends across vital areas to address the most pressing legal and human rights challenges in Myanmar, transforming lives and fostering a more just society.
LCM operates through five strategic pillars that drive our mission to promote justice and empower communities.
Our programs are designed to address critical challenges and create lasting change.

LCM ensure equal access to justice for all, regardless of background or status. Through 10 operation areas offices and legal help centers, supported by over 50 lawyers and 180 community paralegals, we deliver comprehensive legal services-including advice, consultation, assistance, and court representation-alongside 24/7 hotline support. We also promote community-based solutions through paralegal=led Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR), empowering vulnerable individuals and communities to claim and protect their rights.
LCM promotes legal awareness and education to empower communities with the knowledge of their rights and responsibilities. Through training sessions, community workshops, and public awareness campaigns, we help individuals understand key laws, rights, and available remedies. These efforts strengthen community capacity to prevent rights violations and to seek justice effectively. Legal education is a powerful tool that not only raises awareness and fosters legal literacy but also helps develop future legal professionals. LCM offers programs ranging from basic legal awareness for marginalized groups to specialized paralegal training and refresher courses. We also produce legal handbooks, educational documentaries, illustrated materials, and broadcasts to enhance public understanding and promote a culture of justice.
LCM conducts research and advocacy to promote evidence-based legal and policy reform. Our research focuses on access to justice, human rights, violence against women and gender-based violence, witness protection, justice facilitators, and challenges to accessing civil documentation faced by vulnerable communities. Through advocacy efforts, we engage with policymakers, legal professionals, and civil society to effect positive changes in laws, policies, and practices. We also share findings through reports, dialogues, and public campaigns to raise awareness and strengthen accountability.
LCM extends its commitment beyond legal aid by providing social and humanitarian support to vulnerable individuals and communities. We assist survivors of rights violations, internally displaced persons, and those affected by conflict or crisis through emergency relief, psychosocial first aid (PFA), muti-purposed cash assistance (MPCA)and referral services. By integrating legal assistance with humanitarian response, LCM ensures that people not only receive justice but also the care and protection needed to rebuild their lives with dignity.
LCM is dedicated to strengthening human capital through internships and capacity-building programs. We provide opportunities for law students, young lawyers, and community workers to gain practical experience in legal aid, advocacy, and community engagement. Through tailored training, mentorship, and professional development initiatives, LCM nurtures future legal professionals and social justice advocates, enhancing their skills to contribute effectively to the rule of law and human rights protection in Myanmar.
